Becoming a Casual Scientist (No Degree Required!)

This blog is a center for me to talk about and explore my hobbies and aspects of my life with others – I talk about cosplay, things I’m currently into, myself sometimes! But I barely have the chance to talk about another love of my life – science.

Making casual posts about science is difficult – this isn’t a science blog, and while I like to educate in layman’s terms to the general public, it’s hard to think of enough topics that people would be interested in. Despite it being a part of my blog tagline (“Cosplay, Science, and Everyday Fangirling!”), science-related posts have been ignored for the most part.It was time I gave it some attention!

This post won’t be about going into the STEM world or be written in a language you don’t understand. This post is meant for everyone! Because, I think, if you have the right attitude, everyone can be a scientist. Right now.

The Best (Free!) Apps For Science Majors – Spring 2016

Hey gang! It’s the middle of February, and if you’re in college, you probably have an exam coming up soon. I don’t know how it is in every university, but pretty much all of my science related courses were 3 exams + 1 final (that would replace your lowest exam score). Sometimes I had a class where 10-20% of my grade came from other things, like research papers or group projects. But overall, my grade depended on those exams and I didn’t have any buffer room for error.

I actually didn’t have a smartphone until I graduated (it was a present to myself for surviving!) but I did have a Nexus 7 Tablet that was so valuable to me – I could pull up textbook pdfs and homework assignments, get on Blackboard and use apps! Since new apps are popping up all the time, here are some of the best apps to aid you with your studies – oh, and they’re ALL FREE!

So here’s a list of what I found that I really want to own eventually (for a reasonably low cost!)
